EING 3515:  Methods in TESOL K-12 at the Elementary and Secondary Levels

This course explores the most widely accepted approaches and methods for teaching English as a second/foreign language to children and older learners. It also aims to establish the link between linguistic theories, research findings, and classroom practice.

Completing this classroom management project was very meaningful. I am currently a third-year English teacher, and I am still figuring out what works and what doesn't work for me as a teacher. Even with experience, it is easy to fall into routines without fully analyzing their impact. Through this project, I was able to recognize how important clear procedures, consistent expectations, and strong routines are for helping students feel safe, confident, and ready to learn. I also learned new strategies- such as refining transitions, strengthening visual supports, and being more intentional with behavior tracking- that I can immediately apply in my actual classroom. This project reminded me that classroom management is not something we "finish", but something we can continue developing each tear. It showed me that small changes can make a big difference in student behavior, engagement, and overall classroom climate. Moving forward, I feel more prepared, more reflective, and excited to implement new ideas that will help my students learn and grow.
